Lets talk television advertising, What's your take on how brands approach us the audience? Do you notice the work or creativity that goes in it? Or does it not seem important to you as individual?
Today traditional television broadcast is still effective as any other form of advertising, and it is very important that brands are able to use the platform in a creative way when they appeal to their target audience. The Savanna Dry adverts are a perfect example of how to draw your audience in and the kind of elements most people relate to, these ads use humour, sarcasm and puns in their concepts, which I think is brilliant and has paved way for many brands to do the same. By using or creating an advertisement around those elements, it can ensure that people are bound to pay attention when the ad appears on television, as this is one of the main reasons for the advertisement.
Savanna has managed to associate itself with being funny,cool, crazy and memorable and now its target audience anticipate their next television ads, it has built up quite a reputation by entertaining people with the ads, it has created a positive attitude towards the brand and should be well maintained. Many brands such as Nandos, CTM, Chicken 'n Licken, Castle Lite and more are also using humour to get the attention of their audience. Although this is a very good strategy to implement, not all brands can use this because it might not be appropriate to both the brand and its relevant target audience, but its still the best way to grab the attention of the audience instead of the old straight to the point advertising that eventually bores and irritates us, brands must try different approach angles, it does not have to be funny.

I second you, it is very important to study your target audience when making an ad, so that you can appeal to their needs by including material that they can relate to, and therefore your ad will have a great impact and bring sound results for the business.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on this, savanna has way to relate to its target audince becuase of all their creativity,humour and sarcasm therefore they are able to reach their target audience and attract viewers.

ReplyDeletebefore advertiser create an ad must have ideal of who is his or her target public,what they need and want, what going to make his or her ad differ from his or her competitors. people are being grabbed with something funny that say please look at me even when you are far. the martketing team is losing it there because they dont know who the audience are and the goal that they want to reach.
ReplyDeleteMany ads want to go the hilarious route which is fairly difficult that's why we end up ignoring the planning that goes into it, because many ads confuse us

ReplyDeleteNelly, that is a very important process that they have to go through and ensure that they appeal directly to their target audience
ReplyDeleteMost of Savannah ads entertain but they are much confusing. You have to watch one advert three times so that you can get the message. Do you still remember this advert "The monkey stole my Savannah?" I had to find someone to explain exactly what is going on.
ReplyDeleteI agree Mr Hlulani, That is where I believe is the downfall of Savanna because their ads are not for everyone, some people will find them difficult to understand
DeleteCreativity has a great role in advertising, and well it goes hand-in-hand with the target market. You have said it; Savanna Dry adverts are a perfect indication of how adverts should draw audience attention. They are humorous and they kind of difficult to avoid when sitting next to a television. THAT'S A GREAT ADVERTISING STRATEGY THAT SAVANNAH IS USING THERE.

DeleteMany of our adverts lack creativity because the brand doesn't know their audience and doesn't respect their intellectual capabilities.The approach in advertising today is: give them(audience) orders and they will do as they're told...like robots

DeleteI agree with you on that point , the target audience have to be taken into consideration each time when making an advertisement to make sure that the communicated message is being communicated to the right individuals.

DeleteTelevision advertisements are still the best form of advertising for me, provided that they are done exceptionally well. As long as they know their target audience and they know the right time slots to air the ad for that specific target audience then they'll succeed with flying colours.

DeleteITS TRUE ADVERTISEMENT IS A WAY OF CREATING AWARENESS OF A BRAND AND FOR ADVERTISERS TO REACH THEIR TARGET AUDIENCE THEY NEED TO BE FUNNY.ADVERTISEMENT NEED TO BE FUNNY AND COMPREHENSIVE TO YOUR TARGET MARKET.IT NEED TO ENTERTAIN AND AS A WAY OF MARKETING A BRAND.

DeleteIt depends on the advertisement itself as you mentioned.You can not advertise a funeral cover advert and expect to be funny in targeting your audience.True enough different brands have different ways of targeting their consumer of the product.And what can you add on this comment.
